CLASSIFICATION OF FRANCHISES
ACCORDING TO THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FRANCHISES, THEY CAN BE CLASSIFIED INTO:
Production Franchise: It is one where the franchisor, in addition to being the owner of the brand, manufactures the products, for example, empanadas, arepas, cakes, and sells them at a lower value to the franchisee to market them in the franchise establishment.
Distribution Franchise: The franchisor acts as a mediator and evaluator in purchases, selects products that are manufactured by other typical food companies such as: arepas, empanadas, chorizos, cakes, stuffed potatoes (Machine CM08) and distributes them through its franchised points of sale under favorable conditions.
Service Franchise: It is the exploitation of a certain service whose original formula is the property of the franchisee, who transmits it to his franchisees. Some of the most successful cases are car rental companies, real estate companies, banks, transportation, among others.
Industrial Franchise: The franchisor, who must be the owner of the industrial property, transfers to its franchisees the technology in machines to make empanadas, arepas, patacones and supplies the raw materials necessary to manufacture a certain product and subsequently sell it on the market.
Master Franchise: It is the result of exporting a franchise from its country of origin to another, through the presence of a master franchisee to whom the franchisor who owns the brand sells the rights to its franchises to develop them in the destination country. The master franchisee is responsible for developing the brand, selecting franchisees and adapting the concept to the specific characteristics of their market.
Franquicia Esquinera (corner Franchise): It is one that is developed within another commercial establishment, with a franchised space where the franchisor's products are sold and/or services are provided in accordance with its specifications.
It occurs when a traditional merchant agrees to allocate a part of his premises exclusively to a certain brand, such as empanadas or arepas, under the following rules: In the designated area there should only be products with the image and brand in question and there is greater independence and less demand from the franchisor.
Individual Franchise: It is granted by the owner of a master franchise or by the initial franchisor to an individual investor for the management and operation of a single establishment, in a certain area.
Multiple Franchise: Through this type of contract, the rights to open several establishments in a defined geographical area are transferred to a single franchisee, who is obliged to operate them all without transferring the acquired rights to a third party.
Franchise of Products and Brands or Non-Exclusive Distribution Franchises: The franchisor grants the franchisee authorization to use its brand along with the sale of certain products and/or the presentation of certain services that are generally provided by the franchisor itself through its licenses. The franchisor does not grant territorial exclusivity of the product. The quality and quantity of support presented by the franchisor are minimal despite some requirements.
Conversion Franchises: It consists of the association of a group of existing companies, agencies or warehouses under a single format. The main objective is to unite marketing efforts by showing a unique facade, promote sales through massive advertising programs and systematize the quality of service, offering the consumer the first associates in turn, receive future franchisees or assign these rights.
